An Exhilarating and Unforgettable Musical Night in support of SickKids Hospital!

Skyky Foundation is proud to present the fifth Skyky Youth Charity Concert at the prestigious Roy Thomson Hall on June 7th, 2024. This grand event aims to support SickKids Hospital, showcasing exceptional talents and fostering a platform for young musicians to shine.

The concert promises to be a spectacular showcase of talent, featuring a few young performers from schools and a group of local musical artists like violinist, pianist, opera singer and cellist. We are so honored to have the winner of Chopin international piano competition in 2021, JJ Bui and the esteemed conductor, Samuel Tam. Alongside, our dedicated youth committee comprising 6 exceptional students help us to market our concert, to get sponsors.

The concert will be a 2-hour event at 7:30-9:30pm, 6:30-7:20pm for reception with our mission on building a platform for musicians to show their talents and big love.

Dr. Samuel Tam is music director of the Rose Orchestra this 2023/24 season at the Rose Theatre Brampton. Samuel collaborates with the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra and is also on the faculty of the Royal Conservatory of Music, where he teaches the Academy conducting course, and conducts the Taylor Academy Orchestra and the Royal Conservatory Orchestra.

JJ Bui - Canadian pianist, JJ Jun Li Bui, achieved international acclaim at the age of 17 when he secured the 6th prize in the 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, marking a significant milestone as the youngest participant in that edition of the prestigious event.

Julia Mirzoev - Violinist Julia Mirzoev is noted for her warm tone, grace, and fierce attack(California Music Center). A native of Toronto, Canada, Julia has been featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Center’s “Top 30 Classical Musicians Under 30”, CBC Radio 94.1, and Classical 96.3 FM

Bedford Trio - Jialiang Zhu, Alessia Disimino, Emma Schmiedecke
Bedford Trio presents passionate performances of contemporary and traditional repertoire, with a deep commitment to reshaping the future of piano trio music through contemporary commissions and multi-disciplinary artistic collaborations.

Maeve Palmer - “Virtuoso singer” (WholeNote), and “triple-threat ... talented coloratura” (Opera Canada) Maeve Palmer has performed with New Music Concerts, Continuum Contemporary Music, Opera Atelier, Tapestry Opera, and Off-Centre Music Salon among other companies.

Younggun Kim - is a pianist known for his blazing technical capacity and a lush sound supported by a natural phrasing sense(Timothy Gilligan, New York Concert Review), who has performed across North America and Europe.

Gordon Lin - is a 12-year-old piano prodigy who has a passion for composing romantic relaxing piano pieces. His music is inspired by nature, beauty, and emotions, and he has a unique style that blends classical and contemporary elements.
